Cloudy Clear Coat
Hi,
I'm in the process of doing my first model (Tamiya Skyline GTR 1:24 scale). I've been following YouTube channels to see how it's done.
After applying my Tamiya TS 13 clear coat the model has gone cloudy. I did 3 coats as instructed in a video. It went cloudy after the first coat, but I was unsure if this was how it was meant to look so did a couple more coats. I have used Tamiya TS 40 as the top coat.
The day I did the clear coat it was wet so moisture in the air. Is that the reason it's gone cloudy?
What's the fix? I have started to sand out with a 2000 grit but tricky to get rid of the cloudiness on the fine detailed areas. Should I re-coat with TS 40?
Is it okay to use TS 13 clear coat over acrylic?
Any help would be much appreciated.
Cheers
M

Re: Cloudy Clear Coat
moisture is most likely the cause of the cloudiness, i have been able to paint Tamiya paints over other types but i would recommend testing first om something like a plastic spoon

Re: Cloudy Clear Coat
I've sanded it back and re-coated with the top coat TS -40. Looks good. I'll try the clear coat again on a sunny day. Cheers
