Lookin good man.tjjr07 wrote:spotted this little beauty today at the local hobby shop, grabbed it and made a start on her straight away.
There were indeed two cars, however the black car, named 'Swindler A' was rebuilt and painted blue.to my knowledge there were two cars, black and a blue.
The second car was also blue, built for match racing and was named 'Swindler B' it was very close to the same as the second version of 'Swindler A'
The first incarnation (black car) evolved from an Oldsmobile powered street car into the full blown blue race car.
Here's what it looks like today.
One of the key elements of this car that most modlers seem to overlook is that the lower body was severely trimmed away to help reduce weight and keep the car competitive on the strip. Notice also the grille opening is a different shape to the original Willys opening.

Re: Stone, Woods and Cook 41 Willys... all finished now
gave it a few coats of clear today, came out real nice except for 1 of the large door decals had a minor reaction to the clear. you cant see it in the pics but trust me, its there lol
i struggled a little bit with the panel lines. needing more practice so id better get a few more cars on the bench.
wired the engine up too.....
