Nissan Skyline R34 GTR V-Spec II
Anyone like Skylines here?
This is the Fujimi kit from their "Initial D" anime series. Surprisingly, despite the premium price, it's a snap-together kit, but the quality of the engraving makes up for the lack of parts. Those neat wheels come stock with this edition of the kit, but not in their other R34s.
Paint is Tamiya Mica Blue over Fujimi's swirly metallic blue plastic, with various Humbrol greys for the interior.

Re: Nissan Skyline R34 GTR V-Spec II
That's a great little model farmer, I'm hoping to build the rare M spec when I can get a model of a Skyline in a couple of months, we have a friend who has one of these rare cars and this one he has is the only one of it's type in S.A. this is because of what it has and I have to find out what it has so I can build it. You have done a good job of this curbside kit well done.

Thanks. Can't say I've heard of an M-spec, but then most of what I know about them comes from the kits I find!
I've been on something of a Skyline building spree lately. In the last month I finished up four R34s and three R32s.

Re: Nissan Skyline R34 GTR V-Spec II
Good paint.
I thought it was a really cleanly built unpainted body.
I've built 2 of the early models. 1 Fujimi hatch and 1 Tamiya sedan. I'd build more but i'm put off by the prices people want - always seem to be high for what are usually kerbsides.

They are pricey, but I picked up quite a few at the Ballarat hobby shop last year when they had 50% off a lot of their Fujimi stock. Modelbarn has a lot of older Japanese kits at old shelf prices too.
Godd for me that they're my nearest hobby shops!

Damn nice build! Nissan GTR's are fantastic cars and for a kerbside model this looks great.

I've got the Tamiya kit; I've just got too many other kits started already. I want to clear the decks of at least some of them before I start something else.

Thanks! I wasn't sure how a Skyline would be received here. Some boards are a bit funny about Japanese supercars. I prefer full detail models too - I'd love to get one with a properly done RB26DETT engine - but they don't seem to make them like that, except for the old Tamiya kit.

Re: Nissan Skyline R34 GTR V-Spec II
I reckon an AMCC cruise day out to Model Barn is long overdue. I'd like to see what model kits are hiding out there. Anyone else think so too?
