Thanks heaps Tezza!!!
There's some beautiful models there along with some very imaginative ones. I love the mouse rod!!

Re: "AUTOCHAMPS" Melbourne NNL Sept 20th 2009
Here's some more pics to enjoy. The first one is the real thing parked outside the hall. There were some nice cars out front but the real action was inside the hall.
Auroranut the bike at back is scratchbuilt and the one in front is part kit and scratchbuilt.

Sub-theme - Flames, G. Johnson, AMT '49 Ford Coupe (75)
Motor bikes - Paul McLennan, Tamiya Yamaha R-1 (379)
'80 / '09 - Steve Hansford, Tamiya Porsche Carrera (131)
Modified diecast - Paul McLennan, VW Beetle (378)
Competition - Steve Hansford, Hasegawa Ferrari Testa Rossa (133)

I may have missed something but that is all I have to date, as I had to leave before all announcements were finished. Maybe Paul can fill in anything I've missed. In the meantime here are more photos.

Re: "AUTOCHAMPS" Melbourne NNL Sept 20th 2009
Here's one Terry didn't add..Carps won the Peoples Choice award (and a $50 hobby shop voucher!!) for his Garage Diorama
OK here's some of my pix,
There was plenty of happy faces at the show, which is little wonder considering there were 100's and 100's of kits to buy plus lots of other goodies from our well stocked Traders
Even the Traders were Smiling
Here's Steve drooling over TPB catalog ..LOL
There were loads of great builds on show to drool over as well!!!
....and if that wasn't enough there was plenty of guys to shoot the breeze with, here's Carps doing just that

Thanks for filling in the gaps Paul - great shots too. Autochamps will be covered in the October issue of ModelArt Australia magazine, as well as some of the QMHE model cars.

Re: "AUTOCHAMPS" Melbourne NNL Sept 20th 2009
Rick Pool also won the "Name that part" competition.
Only 4 entries so maybe I made it too hard?
My pics are still on my canrea but i'll post them up as soon as I get a chance.
I had a good day.
Spent far too much but picked up a Revell Mickey Thompsons Challenger 1 (been after one for ages), Lindberg Little Red Wagon (looked at it and put it back every time i've seen koolkits display) and the F&F Mitsubishi (it was being auctioned and I couldn't let it go - $15). Also got a sh*t load of resin from Michele Parts Box and was informed by David Koolkits that he did indeed have Revell 5 windows in stock (i'd asked him to get me one) but his hard drive had failed so he lost his list of who had asked for what (so if you've asked him to look out for stuff it might pay to remind him).
Upon getting home I snapped up the last one over the net.
Thanks to everyone who helped out.
So, anyone know the correct shade of blue to paint Challenger 1?

Re: "AUTOCHAMPS" Melbourne NNL Sept 20th 2009
I recall reading in a magazine it was Cobalt Blue in colour? Can't remember which magazine though.
Cobalt Blue is similar to Ultramarine Blue. Revell specified that colour in some of their paints.

Re: "AUTOCHAMPS" Melbourne NNL Sept 20th 2009
Thanks Tezza.
It's moulded in colour and it's close so I could take the body to the paint shop to try and match it.
However i'd rather be close to reality than close to Revell...
Actually, maybe if I read the instructions it might tell me?
I have found from internet pics that the engines are Pontiac Engine Blue.
Sorry for the hi-jack

Re: "AUTOCHAMPS" Melbourne NNL Sept 20th 2009
What a great day it was.
Thanx to everybody who voted for my old shed, it's kinda embarrasing to win with what's basically a pile of junk, especially considering the incedible standard of most cars on the tables.
So I guess I'm gunna hafta work on giving it a lift for next year and maybe finish a few new cars too.
Somehow I stuffed up my camera settings and only got a few decent pics, but I'll try and post some later tonite.

Ok well tell me more ? Not alot of large scale stuff there I noticed in the photos but I did notice a very high build standard amongst entrants.

Very little big stuff.
But you should definately come along as I for one want to study your work close up.
