Tea Caddy
Well it's finally finished.
This is an AMT Parts Pack chassis and body with an AMT Caddy from the '59 Elky. Revell '32 rear 'guards & seat, Revell '40 steering wheel, AMT '36 Carbies, AMT '41 Woody headers and AMT '51 Belair headlights. Resin petrol tank, wheels & tyres and quick-change and aluminium velocity stacks are from The Parts Box. Screen, mufflers and front 'guards are scratchbuilt.

Re: Tea Caddy
Thanks guys.
I thought about a chopped screen (mocked it up with the AMT '29 roadster screen) but it didn't look right with the tall donk.

Re: Tea Caddy
Thanks folks.
The height is because I wanted to use the Parts Pack frame unmolested (it's apparantly modelled on a US drag chassis - Dragway? Drag Specialities? something like that) as it has a neat torsion bar front suspension set up and its chrome. I chopped up 2 of these for The Longer Rod and wanted to avoid that this time. If I get hold of another one then next time i'll channel a roadster body over it and modify a dropped front axle to fit to the torsion bars.
The wheels are from The Parts Box ( www.thepartsbox.com ).
The idea with the exhausts is that you'd drive it to the track and then unbolt the mufflers (and screen and front 'guards) to go racing.
Front guards I made the "traditional" way and cut up an old spare wheel cover from my parts stash.
The quickchange diff is also from The Parts Box. It's actually a sprintcar item which I used because it's big and chunky and looks good under there. The bells on the sides are either Revell '31 sedan or the ones that came with the chassis - I can't remember which ones I ended up using.
You can't see in the pics but it's got a white flocked floor, '68 Road Runner shifter and foot shaped chrome accelarator pedal I had left over from something else (Revell '31 sedan maybe?).
Radiator cap and fuel cap are knock off wheel spinners from my parts boxes.
Engine was inspired by the high & mighty Ramchargers Plymouth. I actually built it before I had the chassis and body and had no idea what it'd end up in at the time.
Those rear tyres might not be able to handle the power so maybe its a dummy blower case sitting over a 4bbl carbie? Dunno, you decide...
