IIRC it goes together well.

Re: 64 chevy fleetside
well got some colour on today just to keep me enthused lol. also got it a bit lower and the engine done except for plug leads.
still got a ways to go with the paint but the general ideas there. Need to tidy up the inner sides of the bed a bit more, mainly a bit more sanding but that wont relly effect any of the paint work done

Re: 64 chevy fleetside
That looks very cool, nice colours and wheels.
My best build to date is this kit, it's in the Showroom under "64' Chev Pickup", looking at yours makes me wanna build another!

Re: 64 chevy fleetside
I went for a slight lift at the back, the '50 stepside body and twin 4's on a tunnel ram under the bonnet.

Re: 64 chevy fleetside
Before you go too mad rusting the outside of the bed I have this nagging memory that the outer panels on these were fibreglass?
Or maybe that was just the earlier Cameo pick ups?

Re: 64 chevy fleetside
I reckon the body looks good as is, it's not too rusty, looks like it's in the process of being rebuilt.

Looking good, it's all coming together nicely
And yes Zen , I think only the Cameo sides were Fiberglass.

Re: 64 chevy fleetside
That's all right then.
There was a build a while back on the Scale Auto forum where someone had spent ages making the bed sides of a chevy ute dented and rusted out. Only to be told that the 1:1 bed sides were 'glass.
It'd be a bit like building a rusty 'vette...
