Brock's Bimmer
Hi,
Here is my model of the BMW that Peter Brock drove for the ATCC in 1988. I've used the old Fujimi kit, with some copies of some old Roodecals that I made, as the originals had yellowed too much to use. I think I started this thing in about 1990 and finished it a few weeks ago, with a continuous 17 years as a shelf queen in there somewhere. To be honest, I really don't like the quality of this model, I've made a heap of compromises, but at least its made it to the display cabinet and looks adequate at the back next to to a couple of Sierras I built before I started this thing. I've never seen another of these built, so I guess that's something.
Well, I hope you don't mind it too much.
Cheers

Very nice Tony. I remember Brocky driving that Bimmer - he absolutely wrang its guts out but it stood up well on the track. Good to see someone creating a history of Aussie motor racing through scale models. Well done mate!

Re: Brock's Bimmer
Very nicely done and as the others have said it's good to see some of the lesser known cars done instead of just the comodores . At this years collectors club event in Coffs someone had made a 1:24 scale model of the Austin paddock basher he started with that really stood out , will see if I can find the pic's of it .

Re: Brock's Bimmer
Very nicely done, You have recreated this one spot on. it would look great in my Brock collection along side of my Bathurst 88 version.
Re: Brock's Bimmer
Bit dark on the panel gaps (a pain to do well on white) but a cracking build otherwise.
