56 Belair
This is a glue bomb restoration to give me an idea of colours for my 1:1. I don't have the skills to make the belair coupe into a 210 4 door sedan.
It started like this
It currently looks like this. Quite happy with it so far.
Hope I don't stuff up the "stainless" when it gets to that point.
These are the wheels that I'm planning on using
Maybe the next one I do I'll try to copy the louvres the 1:1 has. (I hope my skills improve sooner, rather than later)
Cheers for looking.

I agree , louvered bonnet looks hot , what else has been done to it ?
Awesome model build too , especially considering what it started as .

Re: 56 Belair
Thanks for the comments guys.
Not much work done on the 1:1 yet. Everything is as I bought it, but a full body off rebuild starting soon (hopefully). It has front disc brakes from a HQ, all rust removed, chassis powder coated (will change the blue to match closer to the scale car's colour.
Has no engine or trans yet, but they will be ordered soon.

Re: 56 Belair
Good choice of 1:1 exactly the same as mine.
And here's the colours we have chosen.
Mine was going to panel and paint this year but a new house saw to the end of that.
Oh well, always next year

Re: 56 Belair
Brilliant model Tubman. I reckon I saw that one on here a while ago. It was the Delray kit wasn't it that you converted to a 4 door? Been looking for one since then that's a not bad price, no luck so far. All a bit more then I wanna spend, but might just have to anyway. Did find a guy in the states that has a resin 4 door 210 kit but after seeing yours I thought that it would of been cheaper to find the delray.
Good luck on getting your 1:1 painted. My mate and I will be painting mine, but that'll probably be a while yet as well, as I need to sort the running gear and get an engineer out as I'd like seatbelts added. Something about going through a metal dashboard doesn't appeal to me much.

Re: 56 Belair
Yeah, was on here a while ago and yes, it was the Delray.
I hear you about the metal dash, my other concern was the spear in front of me, otherwise known as a solid steering shaft, I will be using the outer casing and blinker set up out of a HT and the inner of a early Torana, not sure what model. Was going to use all HT but the shaft has a different spline on the steering wheel end and the Chev wheel wouldn't fit but it fits the Torana one. Stiill need to muck around with the other end and get it splined and get the Chev shaft cut and splined. But I will feel a bit safer with a colapsable column in front of me.
The seat belts are going to be a pain as in Qld you have to get the inside of the B pillar beefed up and threaded as you can't just drill a hole through anymore, probably a good thing.
Good luck with it all.
