Purple lace
Pretty much box stock of the old AMT 58 Impala. Lowered a bit and loosely based on one I found on the net( Lee Pratt I think). Humbrol black enamel thinned for airbrush with gp laquer thinners. Personally I dont think it self levels as well but it does dry a lot faster. Laid tape and lace on roof then gave it a couple of light coats of black unmasked the roof taped off the body and made a few light passes of candy purple over the whole roof.
worst trouble I had was when laying the BMF it tried pulling up paint along the back right qtr, its only noticeable if you look closely but again quite possibly a canidate for a repaint one day .

Re: Purple lace
Looks very similar to one I have to build up. If it's the same one then yes they do. Can't remember who made it, but I do still have the box at home (surprisingly for me).
This looks awesome Doorslammerfan. Hope mine turns out as good as this one. It'll be a while yet, as all I've done so far is strip the old paint off (this will be a common theme to almost all my builds) and pulled the kit apart. It's on the list, which is slowly getting smaller.

Re: Purple lace
thanks guys ,yep doors open ,bonnet hinge clip thing keeps it completely open or closed.
Bryce, I hit up the local curtain/sewing shops eventually finding some lace ribbon. Plenty of stuff that looks good not much that works in scale. I've had to take cars to all sorts of shops to prove that I do actually do what I've said regarding lace / nailpolish etc so that I'm not quite as weird as they think, maybe ...shit now you've done it I'm gonna go through that whole identity crisis again .lol

Re: Purple lace
I knew the doors were supposed to open. I just wondered if they still did. Some people glue them shut you know...
Fishnet stockings look good...
...ummm, sorry, what was I saying. Drifted off there.
Fishnet stockings look good on 1:1s when used like lace. Probably hard to find in scale though.

Re: Purple lace
Top work there Noisy Door Closer.
A little time at Spotlight usually brings up something useable.
The local cross stitch or quilting store also may have something that'll work. That's where I get minature Mexican Blanket fabric.
