Jim Richards JPS 1985 BMW 635csi
I did this one years ago and it was either my first or second Aus touring car build. It's the car that won the 1985 Castrol 500 at Sandown. Built box stock from the Fujimi kit with decals by RooDecals and me and a Tamiya Porsche 956 supplied the aero discs and decals for the front wheels and tyre decals as well. The figure is from the Fujimi drivers set.
It's starting to show it's age and long overdue for a restoration but it'll keep a little longer.
Cheers SS

A very neat replica of Jim Richard's 1985 ATCC winner. I saw this car for real and was impressed at how Richards could handle such a large heavy beast, especially in wet conditions. The car was always presented in immaculate condition with its gleaming black paint and gold-foil logos and striping. The team was run by Frank Gardner, a master of motor preparation and race strategy. Unfortunately Bathurst was the one they missed out on that year, finishing in fourth place to the winning John Goss Jaguar XJ-S.
Well done mate!

Yeah, right.
This looks better than some do when i've just finished them.
Good work on the black. It's a bastard to spray and i've never got it looking good. Got at least 2 black builds lined up this summer though so here's hoping...

I didn't say there was anything wrong with the paint. It's everything on it and under it that needs a resto.
Honestly, I have made 3 black cars and I don't recall having any probs with the paint. It must be luck or my minimum 3 coats of clear policy. I have to say though, I hate white paint. It's my bastard paint, I can never get white right

Hmmmm, now I look at it properly the windows look a bit grubby...
Knock up a tiny squeegee & tiny bucket of soapy water and get tiny Jim to give them a clean.
I've not had any problems with white that washing my hands didn't take care of...

Yeah it's dirty alright. Come to think of it, that little bugger has been standing around doing nothing for years it's about time he pulled his weight
