53 chevy seen better days
While trying to get motivated as I havent touched a kit since mid december I was perusing pics of the lonestar roundup 09 and found some pics of a 53/54 I couldnt pass up. Sticking with the hotroded six heres what i got so far (about 6 hours so far).
It will have all the front just trying to get it lower. Its the old monogram kit, already seperated the springs from diff and installed lowering blocks , have to get lower profile tyres methinks also want wide whites but will just paint those when stance is set.

Yes I'm speechless but more pics please. I like your weathering effect ideas (tell us more) and want to see how it all ended up.

Two only two! You'll have to try harder than that Or take a look in the showroom. Alrighty then , when I sanded the body for paint I went a little coarser in places I wanted heavier rust maybe not needed but &^% happens. Primed then painted with the blue paint then ligtly with the white on the roof then scuffed back the white to look faded. I managed to track down some Tamiya rust powders which adhere to the flat paint beautifully. Only had BMF ultra bright which seems to have no fricken glue so as an after thought I decided to dust on a light coat of (what I thought was flat clear) turned out not so flat so added another coat of the powders. Then dry brushed Roughly flat aluminium over the BMF to tone it down a bit. sneak preview more in show room
