Thought I share a bit of what I got up to on the weekend.
Drove up to Willowbank (only an hour away) for the U.S. v Aus Nitro Funny car races
Good day to be going to the biggest fry pan in Australia, sitting in the steel stands, I could almost hear my feet frying (about 1pm) but by about 4pm it had cooled off a bit so was quite comfortable.
Wow, doesn't matter how many times or how recently you have seen Nitro cars, it's still the most mind blowing thing I have ever experienced, talk about sensory overload. There were 5 Nitro funny cars plus one top fuel dragster testing. They also had Gary Densham there with a Nostalgia Camaro Funny car racing against Peter Leahy in a front engined dragster running 50% Nitro for the first time, he was having a bugger of a time keeping a hold of that thing on the start line, it was just leaping forward on the cam.
Besides this, there were some beautiful street cars and full on race cars, hope you like the pics (didn't take many, to busy watching the action).
