40 Ford ute
This is a resin body I was going to use for one of the G.A.S. builds but changed my mind. It started with a body from Scaleautomobilia, don't know who makes em (not Jaymar). The conversion is made for the AMT 40 Coupe or Sedan delivery but as they weren't the right grill I went the hard way by using the RM Coupe. First job was to chop the front clip off the coupe and get it to fit the ute, I then had to get the rear guards to fit . Got some primer and a coat of paint on it then put it away for about 6 months.
I wanted something to put in the Pre 49 class at the Rocky show so pulled this out the Sunday before, gave it a coat of Holden Morphius acrylic lacquer through the airblush and then clear coated it . Bloody crap cans of clear, been having a bad run of em lately, this one leaves small air bubbles on edges (Powerplus). Stripped the bonnet on Wednesday and repainted, had the same problem again with the clear but had to live with it. Got a new can of Duplicolour which seems to be o.k.
Chassis and suspension is also from the RM coupe with clear acetate for the screens. Wheels are from the RM 70 Boss Mustang kit and the motor is from the RM 350H Mustang kit.
