32 5window .. de luxe

as with all beginnings there is the ' mock up ' .. !

starting by positioning the body on what ever gets it down as low as possible ...
then with the wheels stuck down and the trusty flathead positioned between the rails ..
all seemingly defying gravity ! the project takes life ..





that amt 32 boyd cover car is looking a whole lot better already !
now to figure out how all these bits will fit together .



i want these tyres ... and these rims



a couple section drawings ..
some phone calls and one metal machinist later ...







a little time has passed ...
the wheels ( now in resin ) are connected to the chassis .. a better offenhouser flathead is now in place and the interior and details are being resolved ..



it's about at this stage that i decided that this was going to be a 'glossy' car ... a 60's style show rod .

the interior needs plenty of white tuck n roll .. but what colour on the outside ?







the interior needed to be scratch built ...
so lets start with a 40 ford dash .. some cool 60's buckets and get to the evergreen half round

ahh .. the fun continues !

Artus is very unique, and I mean that in the nicest possible way.

Great build as usual artus, only one thing flatheads only have three exhausts per side.

Artus can be a bit touchy about that stuff.

Usually claims atistic license, whatever that is.

This picture should settle the discussion technically, however if Artus wants to create a new exhaust system for his model so be it! After all that's what this hobby is all about - originality and creativity. So relax and enjoy guys - life's too short to argue over rivets.

By the way Artus - great build mate - keep them coming.

So, in defence of Artus's need for four exhaust ports on his flatheads, here is a real early Ford Flathead that indeed does have four exhaust ports.
