celica GT 1600
ok this is my latest project i got it for my bday
its a husugawa kit painted in TS-10 french blue (over an export royal blue) copper and royal blue intirior and some chrome (ment to be any ways)to spoose it up i wont to scratch build an engine bay in to this one so its gonna take me a while to finish but heres wot i got so far
i love the tamiya spray cans for its thin coverage and being the first time i used it allmost stuffed it up lol
using the original GT style mags just using fater tyres if they fit
these are the bits plenty to choose from this is allso the first time ive spray painted every thing as i normally hand paint my intirior but clutch recons this is easyer so im givin it ago
well its not turning out to bad sofar but a pain haven to mask off every thing otherwise thats all for now will keep posting as i go
especially if i decide to cut it up for an engine be to funny to miss i think
well till next time

Re: celica GT 1600
Looking good boothy. I also paint (airbrush) pretty much everything on the sprues at least to the first colour. Its just quicker and easier I reckon.

Re: celica GT 1600
Dude!
Here's a chance to test your skills.
1. Grab the can of export.
2. Chuck the bloody thing as far as you can!
3. If you can still see it. You have failed.
You were lucky with this paint job from what I can see.
Enamel does not take too kindly with acrylic lacquer over the top of it

Re: celica GT 1600
Hey Boothy,
Looks like the paint went down real smooth man, nice one. Tamiya cans are nice to work with.
Interior looks great too! Nice job masking it off.

Re: celica GT 1600
If as I suspect, that is auto spot filler you are using you need to put an auto primer down first, problem is, the blue crap, auto primer will eat it. Needs to all be stripped. Good luck is all I can say.
