Mackay Scale Model Show
Found some info for the Mackay show coming up on the May day long weekend, 1st and 2nd May. Hope to see a lot of the Qld brigade up there as well as any interstaters that fancy a trip North. Yes Shoey, I'm taking the 58 SD with me

Re: Mackay Scale Model Show
I hope ur not going to be in the back with everyone Shoey. With your farts it would be like a gas chamber! I'm fairly certain it's form of torture that goes against the geneva convention!

Re: Mackay Scale Model Show
Heres a few photos that I took. Great weekend, first time that I had attended. Brought home some awards:
1st cars modified 1934 pick-up
2nd cars out of box 1926 Ford delivery
3rd Logans monster truck in juniors
2 x Highly Commended 1932 roadster and TV repair Falcon ute
1st Bikes built by Tillerman
1st Cars out of Box
Juniors
I know this isn't a car threw it in for visual pleasure. I'll apologise up front if it offends anyone. And no I didn't paint it, it was done by a bloke from Tweed Heads. His other figure took out Best of Show.

Re: Mackay Scale Model Show
Yeah! Great weekend, My photos turned out like poo.
Somehow my Mustang made it into the out of box class with big wheels and a rear wing, but I no complain, it picked up a win. It's the atmosphere that keeps me comin back. also picked up a few 2nd's and 3rd's and a 1st with my M14 rifle.
Well done Tubs with the Dremmil
Can't remember how many people we had crammed in our motel room afterwords. I somehow got the nickname from a bottle of wine called Dry Sack, which we kept hearing throughout the night.
All who couldn't make it, Tuff! we had a ball.
Cheers

Re: Mackay Scale Model Show
Nice chop Hammozed. I've half started one that would look exactly the same. I'm going to have to change my plans now.
Thanks for the pics Dave.
I had been thinking that Dry Sack referred to someone who had been going on and on and on about the details of their vascetomy.
Ever noticed that? Every blokes who goes and has the big V seem to think that their mates who still fire live rounds want to hear graphic details of what it felt like and smelt like and how large their plums got afterwards.

Re: Mackay Scale Model Show
thanks to all the AMCC members that made the trek, I had a ball, my liver .... not so much, good to meet some of the peoples on here. Looking forward to the next Brisvegas and Rockvegas shows.
and Kirk, if i could replicate the very particular shade of green you had goin on sunday morning,
it would go great on a Rat Rod
I know how to fix it but... practice practice practice
Fred, wasn't it you that suggested 2 motors could fit in the frame?
as for the drysack - you should have been there, not a dry eye in the house

Re: Mackay Scale Model Show
I think it was me Hammozed. I had obviously wiped all memory of it when I got hold of the Revell Z thou engine and chop frame.
Still, all i've done so far is build the basic engine block and trim some of the frame. Easy to change direction at this early stage. Maybe i'll go ratbike...
