The Scooper Bee - ‘70 Dodge Coronet Super Bee
This is the latest re-release by Round 2. Gotta say, it is a nicely done kit. The chrome and decals are really good and the packaging was excellent.
I went with a retro-tech theme, hence the shaved door handles, drip rails and side marker lights. I also used the kit’s twin hood scoops to make the dummy rear brake vents functional and added a hood scoop. I added a rear wing too. The colour is Testor’s One Coat Lime Ice with same brand clear – it went on a bit strange, but polishes up real nice.
The chassis has been mini-tubbed at the rear and runs a nine inch with coil overs. The wheels are from a Revell ‘California Wheels’ ’67 Chevelle with rear tyres from the AMT Wagon Rod kit and hand drilled and alcladded rotors. The engine is the kit Hemi with common-rail fuel injection on a modified cross-ram manifold and the interior has a set of race seats with harnesses and a sports steering wheel.
I’d have to say this is my most personally satisfying model ever. Everything pretty much turned out the way I had it in my head. And that doesn’t happen very often!
Sorry for all the photos, I kind of got carried away trying to capture all the angles! I might try to take some outside tomorrow if the sun comes out.

Woohoo, another Bee finished. And what a Bee, very nice job mate, glad it came out the way you wanted, love everything on it.
Think that's all the Bees finished now, shame we can't get em all together for a group shot, they are all so different. Maybe someone could put a pic of each finished car in the build off thread or somewhere so we can compare them all at the same time moderators??

Man,I'm at a loss for words here. Just a beautiful job,Bryce. Foil is impeccable, especially the back panel. I'm not a green fan but it looks stellar on this car. You've outdone yourself ,Bud. The engine is more like jewelry. I only see one serious problem with it; How in hell can you beat that, . Best to you,Bill

Re: The Scooper Bee - ‘70 Dodge Coronet Super Bee
Thanks for all the nice words guys - I'm really glad you like my bee.
No probs mate - not a lot to see though as I pretty much paint everything satin black these days. I'm getting lazy in my old age...

Re: The Scooper Bee - ‘70 Dodge Coronet Super Bee
Looks awesome. Love the look of it all. I might have to steal the satin black idea for the chassis until the old skills improve.
May be a silly question (and I think I may have guessed the answer anyway), but why are there "flat spots" on the tyres?
