72 Ford Thunderbird
By request, this is my latest. It's the old ARII kit. Almost an OOB build except for the wheels (the kit didnt come with any?) and a masking tape vinyl roof. Grille was opened up and a vast amount of BMF used on the trim. Paint is Tamiya TS50.
I have not built a kit from start to finish in nearly two years I think because of the stupid hours I work and home commitments (anyone with kids will know what I mean ) and just wanted to build something simple to get warmed up! Not the greatest thing in the world so please...............be gentle!

Re: 72 Ford Thunderbird
Theres nothing wrong with that T-bird. Nice way of getting back into the groove of modelling. Vinyl roof looks well done.

Re: 72 Ford Thunderbird
That's cool - good job.
Personally I think American styling went progressively downhill from 1971 onwards, but still cool to see one of these land yachts in scale.
Where'd the wheels come from?

Re: 72 Ford Thunderbird
If that's a "warming up" I can't wait till I get to that stage. 4 or 5 kits and I must still be cold.
Great looking tbird. Love the colour.

Re: 72 Ford Thunderbird
Polishing a turd is easy - freeze dry it first.
Great work Yenko. I still reckon you need a matching '55 to show proof of middle aged spread.

Re: 72 Ford Thunderbird
Thanks guys.
Bryce. The wheels...........unsure. They came in a box lot and I just recently gave a whole heap away! All gone now.
Chris. You know what that kits like. It took a lot of polishing
Zen. I have been toying with that idea since it was mentioned earlier. I think that might be a good comparison as to how the thunderbird turned chunderbird
