79 FIREBIRD TRANS AM

just found this one again its a AMT 1/16,scale. 1979 pontiac firebird trans am 10th anniversary,I would like to paint it the 2 metalic grey's.will be a slow build thinking on detailing this one.

This is the colours of the Trans Am that I am looking at.

Should look good Al and my favourite scale as well.

Thank's Tony,found out the silver is called anniversay silver,have to find some thing close to it.

I havebuilt this one mate, and I did a fair bit of extra detailing on it. This is a good candidate for opening the boot, I did on mine and it was pretty simple. I also added the usual plug wires to the engine and vac lines, heater hoses etc. I also added the A/C lines and a few of the other A/C parts that were missing. I quite enjoyed this kit.

van454, I have not looked at this one since I posted it,for a big kit the is not much in it,had thought about painting it red.did try to sell it but no luck,have even thought about swaping it for two kit.

Yeah it isn't overly detailed, but I figured that just makes it a blank canvas. How much do you want for it?

That silver-grey is a nice colour. Does the kit include the bonnet Eagle artwork decal? Looking forward to progress pics on this one.

Yes Tezza43,it does have the large bird decale with other dark grey one but no thin red pinstriping,don't know when I will start this one,might start looking for photos to help with the build,have not found a silver close to the anniversay silver,if I find the silver's paint code I will get some made up,can anyone help with that.

Hi Allan I was wondering what you was doing with this build,contact ppg tell them the year and the name of the colour and they should be able to give you the code.

Or you can get in contact with the firebird club in the states and they will be able to help you out with the colour code.

Thank's for that infor Tony,I had photos of the of the firebird but did not save them and have lost them when this thing went down,bugger now have to look again for it,had about 2 dozen go photos,

found one of these built up and they said the siver used was platinum silver as it was close to the anniversary silver.

Allan,so are you thinking of going with the platinum mate or are you still going to try and get the original colour?
