Next on my bench…
This one is next in line for completion. I think I already started a build thread for this one on here, but I can't find it. I have done some heavy cutting to get the rear down, but I think it needs to go a bit lower yet…it’s not quite draggin’ that tail yet!

If only it were that easy - I'd chop them in a heartbeat...
Unfortunately the problem is more to do with the floor pan/chassis rails/diff/springs, etc.

Re: Next on my bench…
Thanks guys – appreciate all the encouraging words!
Thanks Marshie – interior will be mainly ivory with copper inserts/highlights and carpet.
Thanks Carps – I’d like to have those rear skirts parellel to the road if possible...will see how we go. The engine will be the kit Y-block with some chrome dress-up parts.
Thanks John – how the hell did you find that? I searched for half an hour the other day with no luck!
Thanks Chris – your wish is my command...

It's so low at the back because it's carrying 250 gallons of Moonshine - but that's only my guess. Maybe there is another purely creative reason, but I like the bootlegger one best.
Nice job Bryce - the two tone colour scheme really suits this car.

Re: Next on my bench…
The weather was nice today, so I did a bit of painting on the interior. Bill was interested in my technique, so I took a few in progress photos.
First I started by painting the whole seat ivory. I was planning to mask it up and paint copper inserts. However, when I started trying to mask off the insert section, I realized that it would be almost impossible to trim around the ‘piping’ accurately, so I went the other way and painted the copper inserts first.
Next step is to apply masking tape and burnish down over the pattern so you can see where to cut. I use a bamboo skewer. Once I can see the shape of the insert, I take my scalpel and cut around to keep the insert masked:
This is what they should look like when ready to paint:
And here’s what they look like when you pull that tape off later:
Now I need to get the BMF out…

Re: Next on my bench…
Thanks for the demo,Bryce. The paint separation lines are super sharp. I just picked up a roll of the blue tape. Going to try it on the Henry J I'm working on. If it comes out good,I'll ask Joe(Clutch) to put up a pic or two,If I can get ahold of him. E-mail's not working right. Hey,if you see him, would you ask him to e-mail me? I'd appreciate it. I'm looking forward to seeing you do the dash and door panels too. Thanks again.Best,Bill

Re: Next on my bench…
Thanks guys!
Not sure if you're familiar with Australian geography Bill, but Joe lives a LONG way from me. We Melbournites are right down the bottom of Aussie and those Queenslanders are way up the top, so it's pretty unlikely I'll see him any time soon!
But maybe he'll read this post...

Re: Next on my bench…
If you haven’t mixed up your own flocking colours yet, you should try it. It’s real good fun and a lot less messy than paint. I made up this ‘copper’ colour using red, yellow and brown. I was real pleased with the results.
I also got a Y-block built using kits parts – it’s pretty boring, but I thought I’d show you anyways…
