american nitro nova
Well, what we have here is a part of my continuing saga to build yet another car from the American Nitro DVD. If you dont know what that is look it up sometime,(its only the BEST film ever made showcasing 70s american dragracing EVER,focusing on the funnycars). However just after 6minutes 47 seconds(approx) the nova I'm gonna try to replicate shows up with one of the most awesome burnouts ever done. I first seen this on vhs nearly 30 yrs ago and it's been etched into my brain ever since. Starting with the new revell 69 nova kit I got the rear end up as high as I could using kit parts and remade new front spindles to drop the nose about 4 more scale inches.

Re: american nitro nova
Cool.
Rivet counters have a couple of issues with this kit but I think its great. I'm yet to build mine.

Re: american nitro nova
Thanks guys, Michael, type american nitro.com into your web browser, you'll get a taste of what its about. You wont see the nova on there tho. Abit of progress
Cant get any info nywhere about the car so just winging it, right colour and stance might pull it off. Didnt have much gold base coat so thinned it a little much which ghosted up the scripts I'd sanded off
you can see the spoons with colour at the bottom of the pic just gott to compare for the closet one

Re: american nitro nova
Don't you hate it when that happens?
You think you've done OK 'cause it looks right in primer & undercoat but then when the colour goes on...

Re: american nitro nova
yep ..but it was my fault. thinned it that much it was almost straight thinners ,phoned up a mate who I got some paint for a while back and borrowed his but was too late, soon as the coloured paint hit wham there was the ghosting. It was probably there before that but I didnt notice.oh well it happens
Re: american nitro nova
This is looking great, keep at it, I have that issue with ghosting sometimes, drives me nuts....
