55 Chevy.....with flames....yep, more flames...

Whaddaya know... more flames! This one is Revell's 55 Chevy Coupe. As usual, not too many mods, absolutely no extra detail! Wheels are Pegasus T's which I narrowed to fit & the brakes are Fujimi Brembos. Paint is a custom mix of Tamiya racing white mixed with a little orange, flames are tamiya yellow, orange & red. A light dusting of pearl clear, then copious amounts of 2K clear. The biggest hurdle I faced with this model came via Dexter, my dog. The model was finished less than an hour when I moved it & didn't notice that the bonnet had slid off onto the floor. Naturally I came back into the room a couple of minutes later to find Dex chewing on the bonnet..... It (& I) was shattered!! 2 weeks later it's back to how you see it now, after much sanding, straightening & filling. Luckily I still had enough of the paint mixed to redo it. The paint is probably a shade out, with a bit too much pearl, but overall I'm happy with the repair! I've left the underside of the bonnet with teeth marks intact as a reminder to be more careful! Interesting colour - I thought it was white initially, but then in some of the other photos it looks almost brown...almost like a really old dog turd...LOL I think I would have killed the dog if that happened to me!

I dont know how you could be sick of flames man! If everything you built had flames on it I wouldnt care The more flames the better!

The repair came up well Chris, you wouldn't even know. Sweet job, the Chev looks great in the photo booth. This one's my favourite.

Bryce, reckon I'll adopt the name "Dry Dog Turd Ivory" for that colour..... who said you can't polish a turd!
The repair did have a silver lining... Never really wanted the chrome ornament on the bonnet, but until Dexter ate it I was too lazy to fill the hole! So all turned out well.
The photo booth is the goods, really gives up some top pics!
