First Chop, 49' Mercury Empty First Chop, 49' Mercury

Post by Drift F.C Wed 06 Oct 2010, 6:36 pm

This was my first chop that I attempted on a AMT 49' Mercury that I had allready built. This project went pair-shaped very quickly when prior knowledge was lacking. I should have really thought about it before I did it. Basically, lowered the top as low as I wanted and use some wheels and whitewalls from a Revell 29' ute which is now sitting on it's brakes. I ended up going for that rat-rod look and choose flat black because you can't beat that matte finish on a rat rod!

Anyway, I enjoyed the experience and definately want to chop another top.

Thanks,

F.C

She certainly is low, but they say, practice makes perfect.

And Cadel should have won the year before...

Mate that is the wildest chop I've ever seen. I agree with Kane - practice makes perfect so keep at it. It's a good start.

I guess there's a rear vision camera/screen inside? Laughing

WOW!, now that's a chop, I totally agree with Scummy, that kit is one of the hardest to chop, and so many ways to do it, and you did it, to the extreme i might add, but you did it, keep practicing and before long, you will have a whole fleet of chopped rods..
