'59 EL CAMINO
findly got my hands on one of these its a '59 chevy EL Camino, been after one for years,will be building it as a stock pickup and 2 tone paint on it, will lookat at building it in a few months after I get some other done.

justed undercoated this one in grey primer,thinking on the colour seen a cool metalic green at supercheap auto the other day mmmmm white roof too.

got some paint on top of it colour Shanghai Red,bottom will be pearl white.

this one has been held up because I did not have any BMF,yesturday I visted a friend who is a modeler I bought a sheet off him of ultra bright chrome so now I can foil this one,YA

Hey Al , Will it be on its guts ? Love the old el camino lines ,just wish I had the patience to do a stock one . Great build coming along I think

no not going to lower it,this maybe sound a silly question do I BMF the body then clear coat it and polish it or BMF after its cleared and polished.

BMF after clearing and polishing, otherwise it goes more of a dull aluminium look instead of being shiny. (I think, that's the way I always proceed). And don't use a wax until your finished because the BMF wont bond as well.
Why one colour? As good as that last pic is, you could achieve the same look two tone. Really should have painted the white first for it to work well.

Thank's for the infor Kane,chicken out on the 2 tone as I alway bugger it up 2 tone paint jobs ,have thought about just painting roof white,the pearl white that I had used it on a vette it came out off white looked like a dirty white.
