Gas Ronda '64 Thunderbolt
Hey guys. I started this a few whiles ago. It's 'Gas Ronda's '64 Thunderbolt but with my colors. Dusty Rose pearl with a tan gut. Real taxi cab. Should be ford red with gray.
It was humid as hell when I shot it. It has some lil' pink arse holes on the right side body. I won't show you those,LOL.
Has a real nice looking '427'. The snorkle's not glued yet.
Chassis is a bit fiddly. Overall not too bad tho.Ya think those traction bars will hold him down a bit?
Buggered the hood, not enough paint to re-do it so I got out the satin black. I kinda sorta like it.
This the bad side. I'll keep that hidden.
Taxi cab indeed. Joe said I done pretty good for having ol' fart hands,LOL. By the way, thanks go to Joe for posting these.More when I get the nerve up to BMF it. Soon I hope. As always, comments are welcomed, whatever they are. I do hope y'all like it so far. Best to you folks.Bill

Thanks a ton,Joe. Yeah,I'm gonna foil the drip rails, front and rear window trim and the side spears,I hope. That's the plan anyway. That'd be the bare bones version. The box art,to my memory,is wrong. It has too much chrome trim. I saw this animal run when I was a youngster. They were amazing little cars. Would run 120s 9n the 11s,right out of the box. Checkmate, thanks. I thought it would really set it off, too. Glad you agree. I'm not sure it's available anymore as I got it in the two fer bin. hanks again to you both. Take your nap now,Joe.

Nice clean build there Bill. The satin hood gives it a mean streeter kinda look. Well done mate.

Re: Gas Ronda '64 Thunderbolt
Thanks guys,
Got decals on him. First time I recall in years,I got the door decal crooked and didn't pick up on it til' too late.Damn I hate that!
It had plug wires on it but they popped loose. Was stuff I was given to try and was very springy. I must have used too weak a glue. Now it just has a crater in the distributor. Please view him with squinty eyes, guys. Thanks as always, for looking. Best.Bill

Re: Gas Ronda '64 Thunderbolt
I'm sure it's great Bill, but I see no pics. Just the photobucket "this pic has been moved or deleted" message.
It's strange you should call it a taxi cab as i've built one as a taxi but have never got round to printing the required decals to finish it off.

Re: Gas Ronda '64 Thunderbolt
Howdy,Zenrat. I called it a taxi just because of the low trim level and cheesey interior. My first roadrunner,a 'new one in '68,was the same way.Plainjane all the way. I'd sure like to find a model of a '68 two door sedan Roadrunner.

Re: Gas Ronda '64 Thunderbolt
OK, can see them now.
Very nice indeed.
What is your opinion on the Hot Rod model series? I've built a few of them over the years and they always strike me as being a notch below the same kit when it's in a Revellogram box.
Almost as though the last hoorah of a worn mould was to be banged out as a Hot Rod release...

Re: Gas Ronda '64 Thunderbolt
'Morning,Fred. I can't re-call having built another from the series Bud,But I'm not sure. This one was an old stock piece from '85 that I bought through another site. Kind of a beat up box but only one broken piece. I have to agree with you. Not so much a worn mold, but the total lack of extras of any kind. Opps, wrong,it had three sets of wheel fronts and extra seats. I don't recall everbuilding a kit with about 50 parts,at least not since I was still a turd dropper.Lots of good mechanical detail but forget the interior. Dash and door handles were near invisible. Not a bad kit but still damned expensive for what I got. I got it pretty fair, too,20 bucks with shipping from canada. Let's see how I like it when it's done. Take care,Bud.Bill
