XYGT Doorslammer
Here's some progress photo's of my XYGT Doorslammer. This one's going to be along term project. Making all the alluminium interior for it now. No easy feat i can tell you but it'll get there. Happy modelling Southy.[img][/img][img][/img][img][/img][img][/img]

Re: XYGT Doorslammer
Best of luck with it Southy. Its looking good so far. Gotta love that big donk - the detail is staggering. Is the donor model from Biante or Classics?

The donar model is from classic and the engine is out of a top fuel boat. I think i'm going to need all the luck i can get. Thanks Southy

Re: XYGT Doorslammer
Just some friendly advice for the tin work. Find you local printer and see if you can get some of there old printing plates. It is very fine alloy and you want need to anele it to work it. I used it for all the tin work in a 16th cortina i did years ago. It comes in 4 foot by 3 foot sheets.

Re: XYGT Doorslammer
Thanks for the advice. I got some thin sheets of alluminium which is good because you can cut it with a good pair of sissors but is thick enough to hold it's shape. About 1/2 mm thick. I like the old cortina ,what make are they.

Re: XYGT Doorslammer
Give it ago mate. You need a few power tools and a few more dollars than a resin model though.harley fan wrote:mate that is looking awesome, the attention to detail is brilliant, i would not know where to start with a diecast, have never attempted to strip one down, might have to try it one day

Re: XYGT Doorslammer
I haven't seen this one yet. Looks like an awesome build. Hope you get time to finish it soon. I've got a bunch of my own projects sitting for way too long also.

Re: XYGT Doorslammer
It doesn't matter when this is finished as it's only for me and not going to be for sale. This is my dream car if i had money. That's the problem with your own stuff , it gets put to the back of the cupboard and never to be seen again. I'll finish it one day. Cheerscorrupted wrote:I haven't seen this one yet. Re: XYGT Doorslammer
I'm almost converted enough to modify one of my diecast models. I have a 1/18 Minichamps Capri thats begging to be coverted to a door slammer.

Re: XYGT Doorslammer
I have the same model and had a chassis capri as my drag car so i was going to do a replicar of that. They are not a bad model and fit a V8 in them real easy.ProBee wrote: I'm almost converted enough to modify one of my diecast models. Re: XYGT Doorslammer
I have a fairly big range of resin parts which i have to sell. I have 5 different sorts of drag style wheels(Skinny fronts/fat rears). What sort of parts are you after and i can let you know if i have them or can get them made. I have engine parts from sumps the blowers and injector hats and also complete engines. If you like my email address is southyracing@hotmail.com and i can send some photo's. CheersHAMMOSZED wrote:top stuff dood
