Re: Another 1:18 modified FJ !
Looking good so far siggs , just like the real thing lots of bog and cut up metal (although no rust) like the layed down rear window.
How do you join the diecast after you cut it . A replica of the "Shes Ace " drag car has just been finished in SA it is a chopped 2 door.
Hope to see progress photos.
Peter.

Re: Another 1:18 modified FJ !
Peter,
I don't now the She's ace car, I'll have to have alook through my books, Australian hot rod pioneers has a lot of good reference material but for this build I'm hoping for the look of a stock bodied two door. Depending on the join I use epoxy or super glue and bog over, sometimes I reinforce inside of the joints with plastic strips..

Re: Another 1:18 modified FJ !
Bloody hell it looks like the paint shop at GMH when I worked in there. Have a look at this website - there's a real FJ coupe being built up and a convertible too.

The design for the convertible looks really cool.
I take my hat of to you for doing this, no way I'd ever attempt anything like this. Keep it up.

Re: Another 1:18 modified FJ !
Not yet, I have tidied up the bodywork a bit more, just have to recess the door handles and she'll be ready to paint, will post some more pics soon, she'll be basically standard mechanically so once the body's done it should move along quite quickly...... I hope !

Re: Another 1:18 modified FJ !
The FJ coupe is really funky. it would have been interesting had they made them like that
Re: Another 1:18 modified FJ !
Thanks for the nice words on th FJ, Peter I have seen the 1:1 coupe pics and the roofline always seems wrong, as a result I re-worked the roofline from the B pillar back, she seems to have a fat rear end but .......
