Stardust - '57 Chrysler
She's done.
Pretty much box stock apart from wheels (Fujimi), ride height, guitar string ariel, sidepipes and the nosed bonnet.
You can clearly see the difference between kit chrome, BMF & Alclad.
Photos are not the best but my camera seems to have been confused by the combination of silver 'flake, black paint & chrome.

Nice one Fred - the chromework is fab and those wheels really shine. The numberplate is neat too! A beautiful job all round.

Excellent, came up a treat. Don't take it out on a sunny day, you'll go blind!

Re: Stardust - '57 Chrysler
Howdy,Fred. It's a beauty. Your detailing ,as always,is killer. How in hell do you get that rear side "300" emblem so nice? I have to smear my glasses when ever I look at mine,LOL. Otherwise,it just chaps my arse. Nice seeing bumpers without mold seams, too. That Alclad is amazing. Best to you. Bill

Re: Stardust - '57 Chrysler
Somewhat restrained by your standards Fred. Looks good but I think it needs a set of narrow whitewalls.

Re: Stardust - '57 Chrysler
Thanks guys.
Originally it was going to be straight black and I felt white walls/lines would have taken away from the sinister black & chrome thing.
Maybe they'd work with the 'flake.
Bill - the "300" turned out better than I expected. It's foiled and then i Painted the whole circle with gloss white acrylic. 24 hours later I dampened a cotton bud with acrylic thinner and wiped the paint off of the raised portions.
I then painted the red & blue with gloss acrylic and did the same.
I think the trick is to have the cotton bud almost dry so it doesn't runinto the lower areas.

Re: Stardust - '57 Chrysler
Great build Fred, that's one of my favourite AMT kits and it has the best most accurate '392 Hemi of any kit anywhere.
I'm liking it without the whitewalls, you pretty much nailed the perfect mild custom, paint stance and a little cleaning up of the hiccups.
Well done!
