Heavily modified Monkees Mobile

I always liked the look of the Monkees Mobile - partly. I like the front and the rear, but I really DONT like the ridiculous giant phaeton style soft top. So an idea formed in my head, why not put a beautiful coupe roof on the thing? So I did.... I took the roof and part of the rer deck from a MPC ´67 GTO, and grafted it on the MM body. The wheels and tires were updated a bit, and all in all, I like this Monkees Mobile better than the original, if you dont mind me saying so...

Wow that is real hot - the new roof suits it much better than the original. One of the nicest modifications I've seen.

Have to agree with Mr Mopar , Never did like that kit , however , you've done it justice with amazing results . Top build dude ! I may try and replecate your build one day ,if you don't mind of course !

The silly soft top was a necessary evil for what the car was built to do, but it looks heaps better with a 'stock' roof on it.

I've had a similar idea in mind for many years now, just never got up the gumption to start carving things up.

Well done, I'll have to try my own verson now, maybe using a GM Bubble top?
