VW Beetle van
this one will be a long term build,going to turn a VW beetle into a beetle van,have gotten the bug but still have to get the kombi van,second photo shows using kombi parts to build van.

dv8v8,found the body of the resin one that you are getting,the front door frame is flat at top near windscreen frame as with the roof,the back slopes forward too at the top,still in all its a good looking body,so you are going to be building a bug van too.Here is resin body.

Thank's Kane,I have to track down a cheap Hasegawa vw 1967 panel van kit,there was one that had a yellow van on box art, the only one around now is the mooneyes one for about $70 a lot of money for just part of the body,anyone got one to trade for kit

Thank's tezza43,been taking time out from building models a the moment as things have not gone right,the van can about looking for beetles turned into utes for some one else and came across this one,the more I looked at it the ideas started to flow and so I going to give it a go hope it works out,not going to rush this one it will be a slow build.

Here is Beetle body on its side to show were cut's will be,its about 49mm wide were as kombi is 60mm wide this is qiuck measurement going take better ones,also the groove in the roof above doors will have to be filled to make it match the kombi roof,the kombi is molded in dark blue had to lighten it,do know if I can match the roof's together,watch this space.

This thing has keeped me awake most of the night work out how to match the two roofs,going to borrow mirco saws off a friend on the weekend,then looking at the first cut.

after thinking on this one most of the night and today I will be shelfing the idea for a time,I don't think I have the skill to build it so for now it wont be built maybe one day.

Sorry to hear Allan, but I know how you feel wanting to/not wanting to cut up those bodies. The last thing you want is to stuff it up beyond repair, but then again maybe the best way to learn is to just dive in and see what happens. Anyway think it over and go with whatever's best for you

I chicken out of cutting up the two bodys to build the VW van but will be going new way with it got a resin vw van body coming from the states will be using parts from a 911 porsche as I melted the body using the the wrong thinners did not want to bugger up two kits.
