Rebuild 1940 Ford Rat

Hi all , this is another W.I.P. sitting on the bench , the plan is to keep the same paint just faded an rusty..
the wheels n rubber are not for this car ,though they will most likely be of the same size.
l hope to wire as much of this as possible, with all chrome strips removed showing all the holes.
Also add that this would have to be my fav of the 30,s 40,s body type..they all ways look good stock rock, rod show ,ratrod.

I agree - the old 40 Fords look good no matter what condition they're in. It was a stylists wet dream IMO. I wish Ford would bring it back! Good luck with the project.

One of my favourite Fords...looking forward to how this develops.

I'd be stickin with the wheels, look good and theyr'e not red.

Cheers guys ,l sure will be posting on this car , the only 2 things i dont have is a Photo Etched grille ,ordering this Photo Etched set next week.

And wipers, any wipers really!! does anyone know of any after market crisp/fine detailed wipers?? ,1/25 scale moulded on wipers just dont cut it , maybe be in the past ,,anyway,,
Red wheels, l agree they will most likey be the same as the fenders ,these one come off a flat black pro 66 nova ,my WW2 paint was used for them , Vallejo German camo bright green 833 .
these Acrylic paints are sooooooo much better over Tamiya Acrylic its not funny huge range not just WW2 ,check them out.

Bob Drake reproductions have a complete brand new all steel '40 coupe body and all the other bits to build it as a deluxe or standard, are in their catalogue.

So now you can do a 1/1 scale all steel '27 model T Turtle deck roadster, Model A 28/9 or 30/1 roadster, roadster pick-up, closed cab pick-up, '32 Roadster or Three window Coupe (there's a 5 window coupe coming this year) 33/4 roadster and three window coupe and now the '40 coupe, of course if you don't mind plastic, most of the other Ford models are available that way with pretty much everyting else required being reproduced by more than one manufacturer.

Then there's the all new all steel tri five Chevy's, coupe and convertible, '66 thry '69 Mustang coupes and convertibles, likewise the '69 Camaro as a coupe or convertible. The 57/8 Corvette is also being reproduced as is the '59/60 model, but my favourite is the Waldorf Nomad which is being built in a limited run of 50 units. For those who don't know what that is, it's the car that became the Corvette and also the top half of the Nomad. Imagine a '55 Nomad but with a Corvette Body not a regular Chevy passenger car bod.
