Hotwheels 57 Chev
Heres my plastic copy of a Hotwheels 57 Chev that I had in my collection. It started as a AMT kit. I changed the wheels, these came from the Tom Daniels Paddy Wagon kit. Not much else was changed with the standard kit. Tamiya paints for the gold, metallic black and bright red on the exterior and satin black/matt white for the interior. Not much has been done in the engine bay, just the kit engine with wired up spark plugs. I wanted to keep it a simple build as the AMT kit, I thought, was a bit ordinary.

That's worked out very nicely. I like the colours - unusually different.

Re: Hotwheels 57 Chev
Bit of an update on this one. I made a base for it to go to the Mackay comp where it got a trophy for thinking outside the box.
Enjoy.
Enjoy.

Re: Hotwheels 57 Chev
I like the base but I still reckon you should've made the 1:24 scale size Hotwheels packet and hang it from a hook.

Re: Hotwheels 57 Chev
Went off that idea when the packet was going to be too big and distract your eye from the car. Also couldn't find/work out how to do the clear packaging without too much drama/cost. Figured that the base would be just as eye pleasing to highlight the Chev's heritage.
