Peterbilt 359 Tow Truck Empty Peterbilt 359 Tow Truck

Post by ProBee Wed 18 May 2011, 10:13 am

Hi guys. This one is fresh of the bench. It was a junkyarded re-released version of the old Amt Peterbilt tow truck. I extended the chassis to allow for the larger bunk, and now has a walk through cab. The truck has been lowered by three scale inches and has semi scratch built rear suspension, and scratch built aluminium front bar and drop visor. The rest of the truck is built standard as per kit, with a few add on's from my parts bin. The paint is a sore spot with me, agh but it ended up metallic purple, eventually. Sorry about the photo's, as I have only just learnt how to use the camera, but they don't show the colours well.Peterbilt 359 Tow Truck 100_1260Peterbilt 359 Tow Truck 100_1261Peterbilt 359 Tow Truck 100_1263Peterbilt 359 Tow Truck 100_1278Peterbilt 359 Tow Truck 100_1258

Your photography is fine mate - and the truck looks fantastic. I often wonder why a tow truck would need a sleeper cab, but I suppose not all jobs are short trips?

Purple and yellow colours work well together don't they.

super

Thanks for the kind words mate, but you can see what I mean about the camera,... the trucks is purple and orange. lol! I looks great live though. Got to redo the clear. I used pledge floor polish (which I use a lot) but this time it blistered, must have been because it was raining when I did it scratch Ahyhoo a bit of windex and try again.

Cheers,
Mick

Not unusual for our big Kenny to go out on a job at two or three in the morning for a B double roll over, spend 5-6 hrs recovery and maybe take the wreck to Sydney or Brisbane (either one is about 500 kays from here ) and then maybe on the way back get half way home, then do a uie and go for another job. Sometimes gone for 2-3 days.
Certainly a good job on the model greatwork Oh yeah, see you're from Tassie too. Lot of good builders down there
