Sheep Truck WIP
While the sheep truck is something I really want to make, the amount of work required has always brought any start made to a halt. The same goes for making the sheep wagons for a livestock train. Hopefully posting a few WIP photos on here will keep me motivated to finish this time. A very basic start, repainting the prime mover.
that's about it now until the detailing parts and trailer chassis arrive.

Re: Sheep Truck WIP
Looking good so far, but where will you find all the sheep for the rest of it?

Re: Sheep Truck WIP
Prefer not to think about that at this stage. As I mentioned in the other thread there was an article in AMRM about using foam to make a representation of sheep for rail wagons, though I think I would prefer actual model sheep, but so far an empty running back to load is leading.tezza43 wrote:Looking good so far, but where will you find all the sheep for the rest of it?

Re: Sheep Truck WIP
The trailers and detailing bits arrived the other day, so a bit more progress has been made. Bullbar, mirrors and horns added to the tractor and have started on the trailers.

Mate, if it is that small, just fill the trailers with cotton wool
Rod
Any way, you are doing a great job.

Re: Sheep Truck WIP
1/87 is pretty close to HO scale in railroading so these might be suitable for you , just check with the seller or a hobby shop as to their actual measurment first .

Re: Sheep Truck WIP
Hey Rowdy, just checked the sheep market for you, and that one sports quoted ( close to a "white sports quote") seems like a good buy. No animal cruelty involved. Not a kiwi in site.

Re: Sheep Truck WIP
hmm, I don't think I want any thing like that on the truck. Since taking those photos I have ripped the deck off the trailers to be redone with plastic. I originally started with balsa as that is what I used for my cattle truck.
Will have to make a cattle road train one day too.

Re: Sheep Truck WIP
Made a start on one of the trailers with a new plastic deck and commenced on the sides. Then the missus said we were going to Yeppoon for the afternoon so all work stopped, looks a bit weird with the side less then half done.
Also re-discovered my semi completed Greyhound coach that will hopefully get finished around th same time as the truck.

Progress stopped for a time while I reconsidered the method of construction, should start again soon though. Will post some more pics when I get something done.

Finally got some work done on this one. During the downtime though I used materials bought for this project elsewhere so need to buy some more.
