Trade Secrets Meeting.
Held on the weekend of the 13th and 14th of August 2011 in Dubbo at an undisclosed location and supported by The Model Truck Association and The Plastic Mafia.
Here's a couple of pics one member took that got past security.
Like to thank Brian for organising the event and providing me with the invitation and security clearances enableing me to attend such an event and everyone else that attended for a great weekend, best weekend I've had since April!

Great pics Rob - thanks for sharing. There's many years of experience in that bunch, so there also must have been lots of secrets shared. Any clues for us mere modellers?

Re: Trade Secrets Meeting.
Mmmmmmm clues for mere modellers? Gees Tezza it was a pretty secretive affair but one thing I can pass on that I learnt quite awhile ago and got reminded again of it on the weekend.
Pay attention to the old boys, they're crafty and cunning and generally the stuff you have to research to build a project they dont have to, cause they experienced it first hand and no amount of research equals that.
So much can be learnt from an afternoon in a shed surrounded by good mates talking crap!
I feel very privilidged to be the youngest member of the Plastic Mafia and treasure the mateships I've made.

So Scummy finally got his Lonestar kit, after all the bagging he's done about this kit------------ ya' all shoulda' seen his eyes light up when he got it went round telling everybody that it really wasn't for him and he was only getting it for a mate !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
But-------------------------we ALL know the truth!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Certainly a top week-end for those "that were invited" into the "Inner santcum"

After much scrutiny and talks with the security people they would ONLY release the following photo's .
The lonestar i got WILL be traded for a aerodyne kenworth and 6 detriot deisel motors .
The weekend was very memorable and was a buzz , still cant beleave how high flames go when you throw on 4 pallets . Also amazed at how close a man can stand to a fire before he moves ?
Yes , thanks goes to brian for allowing these people to invade his place and talk shit , and big yes i was surrounded by a bunch of great guys .
Oh ,and i think some lonestar guy SHOULD watch how much they drink , got a lot sillier than usual ?

Re: Trade Secrets Meeting.
He'll have the Lonestar built for the NNL in Tumut in April. Thats the next one in 2012! Might even have the Road Boss finished too!
It is a great pick of Scummy, Col and Scotty.
Great to get together again, any excuse is a good excuse.

Re: Trade Secrets Meeting.
And it's a fresh kit, not some half stuffed ebay relic thats slowly crumbled after 30 years of dust and neglect that someone else built back before they had sliced bread.
You can do it dad, assemble a chassis and start a fresh kit!!!

Hey Rob------just wondering if the comments you've made about half stuffed ebay relic thats slowly crumbled after 30 years of dust and neglect---------is actually about ---------" THE PERSON IN QUESTION" and not the item.
Let's face -------we all know he's a relic and ya' don't have to look real close to see that he really has started to crumble around the edges.
If that's what neglect does to ya' then I guess the sad fact is that he's pretty much past his "PRIME" !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Trade Secrets Meeting.
Look out here comes the serious face!!!! Everybody leave Scummy alone before he erupts and brings out the spoon.
What he's saying here is, "Keep going Kev and you'll end up in this box!"

"a little 'spac filler' " isn't that something ya' use to just make the surface all "NICE AND SMOOTH"
Na' I reckon he's Tooooooooooooooooo------------- "RUSTY ---- AND-----CRUSTY" The damage was all done ages ago
There maybe a few parts that are useable but for everybody's safety-------I reckon we should put him "OUT TO PASTURE"
