Removing paint from resin parts.
Ok who has successfully removed paint from parts made of resin and
what did you use
how long did it take.
I only get one go at this so i cant afford to do a test run.
Also is it really necessary to prime parts that are roughly the size of a 20 cent piece.

G,day mate , i read somewhere that pinoclean is a paint stripper without doing any damage to the part , i tried it on a plastic part and it worked a treat .

Re: Removing paint from resin parts.
I've used pvc priming fluid to strip paint off resin, works straight away, just brush on, wash off. been using the priming fluid (m.e.k.) as hobbie glue for a number of years now.

Re: Removing paint from resin parts.
Caustic Soda solution. Caustic soda is the active ingredient in the oven cleaner but if you make up your own solution from crystals (available from Bunings etc) then you can make it as strong or as weak as you like.
Just be aware that the stuff will eat through clothes, flesh & aluminium as well as paint and that you should always add the crystals to the water not the other way around.
And the reaction when you mix is exothermic meaning it generates heat - don't put parts in until it cools or they may warp.
DO NOT USE BRAKE FLUID TO STRIP RESIN PARTS.
