When Waltzing Matilda was retired it was purchased by Ray Kernigan, yes father of Lee. He released an album dedicated to this truck.

Thank's Scummy and Probee , I'll check with Terry if he knows that though I'm guessing he might (I haven't spoken to him for 6 months or so), he founded Recar and while he sold it a few years ago his son builds most of the snap on tools trucks and remote broadcast trucks for TV so is still in the industry . It was after Kernaghan's sold it that it became lost .

Yeah, nobody seams to know where it ended up, but it was spotted in sydney in a deralict condition. How it ended up in Tassie, I'm not sure, but this honey farmer is quite fanatical about his trucks and I guess he hunted it this truck down and and gave her life again. From what I understand, it still has its original engine in it. Little bit of info are only just now starting to appear on the internet regarding this truck, which is very supprising. Scummy, I have a copy of that special edition magazine. I bought it off Evlbay, claiming it was complete and mint, but it is missing the center page. Mad Wasn't happy, but it's better than not having it. Has some great pics.

Yeh, thats what I've heard. Lets hope it happens. If you like the Tyrone Malone kits, you might want to hunt down a harder to find kit called the Intimidator. It is a ficticious drag truck as far as I have been able to work out, and it was manufactured by ERTL. Its a Peterbilt 359, with body work similar to Super Boss, but she's bogie drive. Got the big wing and flame decals. I've found one in the past that was still sealed but it went for huge dollars. I then stumbled on a junkyard one that also went for big money. I plan to have it one day. I have all four Malone kits. The two black ones are unbuilt and the two white ones are built but not decaled yet as the original decals will not release from the backing paper, even after soaking for hours on end. I have bought new/old decal sheets so I can scan them and make new ones. Now I just have to find the time. Laughing

In regard to Waltzing Matilda. Yes it is indeed in Tassie. It is also being restored. ProBee is correct about it belonging to some honey produces. How they came across it is an interesting story. Which i know some of but not all of it. They had it on display at the Deloraine truck show earlier this year. Still a long way to go for the restoration. I do have some pics of it,cant seem to locate them at the moment.
cheers
Kerry
