Cranberry Nightmare"
Hey there all, have finished what turned into a bit of a nightmare for me. Firstly the paint went wrong and took another day to salvage, then my so called great idea of splitting
the hood and double hinging it,well, next time i think about doing that, Adam is under instruction to beat me with a very large stick untill i come to my senses.
Now, firstly opened the rear door and hinged it at a 45 degree angle, that one went reasonably well, fully detailed the under carriage, fuel lines, all air bags are plumbed to the compressor and tank, battery leads to motor and plug leads, power steering is plumbed to the rack, ALT is wired and A/C is plumbed aswell.
Paint is Persian sand gold/ Cranberry acrylic with a few different shades of cranberry, (some silver base and some gold base). some gold BMF to cover some of the paint stuff-ups.
Wheels are chrome/gold pegasus DZ's.
I think my ambition over powered my ability on this one, did to many "different" things and got frustrated with it, in the end i'm kind of reasonably happy with it but
could of been better.
thanks for looking, till next time,

Looks great Dale. The super clean chassis and engine help it to look great. You should be commended for not throwing in the towel when things got frustrating.

Re: Cranberry Nightmare"
Thats one thing I always wory about with paint ...over complicating it ...but like you ...when I have the masking tape in hand ...look out hehehe.
All in all a nice build mate. You get extra points for all the detailing so dont fret to much. Oi.. Adam ...put that lump of 4x2 down :-P

that's one very cool van, just one thing with the way the bonnet opens how would you work on the engine if it was a real one, would of been better not to cut the bonnet in two halfs one could of hinged it on one side.A part from that great colours on it.

Re: Cranberry Nightmare"
Thanks heaps guys, this one tested me and at one stage all the walls had little bulls eyes on them, tempting me to throw it at them , glad i stuck it out, and Allan, it wont break down coz it's PLASTIC if it were a real build i would engineer a quick release system into the hinge to cover breakdowns and repairs
Thanks again for the kind words, you'se keep me going.
