37 ford Sedan
ok the pictures arent that great, because my htc, broke it's screen last night and i'm stuck using my old phone with crappy 2mp
anyways this is my latest work in progress, i've used 2 coats of primer, followed up by about 3 coats of metallic blue and 2 coats so far, of tamiya clear,
my question is this, has anyone built this kit, and if you have...how did you put the interior together, did you glue the door panels and such to the inside of the body or did you glue them to the chassis, it shows in the instructions to glue to the body, but, i'm not sure which way to go..cheers

Re: 37 ford Sedan
That's looking really nice so far. I built this kit many years ago and can't remember what I did, but probably followed the kit instructions. Sounds easier that way?
I built mine as a Redex Trial vehicle from the mid 50's for the importer - don't know what happened to it though.

Re: 37 ford Sedan
i probably should have done a coat of silver under the plastic, to accentuate the metallic blue a bit more, but overall i'm reasonably satisfied..

Re: 37 ford Sedan
ok here are 4 new pictures of this build, i've spent a great deal of time getting this paintjob just about perfect, i forgot to paint the underside of the car, so i've had to redo the entire bottom half of the car, and now you wouldnt even know i'd messed up. for me this is the best model i've ever done, no car even comes close to this, just need to finish it now,

Re: 37 ford Sedan
the main body doesnt sit flush on the firewall. causing the hood to not sit correctly. i'm at a loss on how to fix this, so if you have suggestions then i'd be interested in hearing from you,

Re: 37 ford Sedan
Colours nice as, you might want to put a black wash through your grill to fill the gaps in it.
I built one of these years ago to and remember vaguely that I had dramas trying to get the body on and the door trims etc, but my bonnet lined up from memory though.
Cheers Rob

i've worked out the body trims etc, i'll glue back seat in then put the side body trims, then body on top, it's easier than what they suggested..
ok it's not a huge drama..as i've said, i build my cars for myself..just poor form that they dont sit flush, i've just noticed the original "37 ford convertible" does the same thing..i've had that kit for a number of years an old kit..

Re: 37 ford Sedan
here are pics of the second 37 i'm working on. i've done a couple of coats of primer grey, and a coat of silver, my hope by doing this, when i put the metallic black on top, it will make the metal flakes come up a lot more than it did with the metallic blue, in the pics i've posted you can barely tell there is a metallic flakes in it...

Re: 37 ford Sedan
think i've sorted out the problem with the front of the main body, i've sanded the front of the main body a little bit, and it's brought it down a little bit, another 1-2mm should have the body and firewall sitting flush..will post pics later
