Re: Ultimate family sleeper
Interesting conversion , only thing to me is the seam line left on top of the brake master cylinder !
Re: Ultimate family sleeper
Good call, sticks out like dogs-nuts in the pic, never really noticed it in real life, must pull my finger out a bit further next time.

Re: Ultimate family sleeper
Only thing is the wire bracket/clip goes the other way.
Nice build of a kit that I've avoided like the plague. Well done.

Re: Ultimate family sleeper
I must have had at least 6 of them and the variants. I only have one motor left - and it's in something.DeeCee wrote:Thanks guys, i love this motor, pitty the old J2000 is a bit hard to score now days, it made an awsome donor car.

Re: Ultimate family sleeper
A photo of one of my long lost one:
I also had a version of the same car undamaged, in glorious pink, with massive flares all round. Double wheels on the front, so it does still have a tyre there. Between the two, that counts for 4 kits already.
Sorry, we seem to have hijacked your thread.

Re: Ultimate family sleeper
Thats cool mate, looks like it would after the keys were given to a teenage son to just go down the shop,(be good now) , funny thing, my first one was done hot pink aswell , and as it was my thread to start with, it doesn,t count as a hijack.

Re: Ultimate family sleeper
IIRC that engine (possibly without the turbos) was also used in pro street Beretta & 'vette kits.

Re: Ultimate family sleeper
Correct! That is what I mean by "variants". Quoted from elsewhere: "The Beretta and Corvette version had twin side draught webers on a magnacharger."zenrat wrote:IIRC that engine (possibly without the turbos) was also used in pro street Beretta & 'vette kits.
It was probably a case of licensing that prevented the exact engine being used!
The only one I have left must have been from the J2000. It has been modded to have the single 4 barrel sitting up atop the magnachargers.

Re: Ultimate family sleeper
Ilike that thing too, what was it originally? looks mustang-ishh in the rear quarter.

Re: Ultimate family sleeper
It wasn't anything originally. It's hand sculpted out of copper foil and wire, and yes I was using a Mustang as a reference. As it typical of oval track cars though, it's just a few bits of sheet metal hung from the tube chassis.DeeCee wrote:Ilike that thing too, what was it originally? looks mustang-ish in the rear quarter.
