Hi Everyone,
This is the Tamiya Lotus 25 that I finished late last year.
Nothing extra done to it, but its a lovely kit.
Cheers

Re: Lotus 25
Nice Build, real tidy, it does look like a nice kit too. Is it a Japanese kit?

Re: Lotus 25
Hi,
Thanks, yep it's a Tamiya kit from the mid-late nineties. Very easy to build.
Cheers

Re: Lotus 25
nicely done. good attention to detail.
looks a bit too clean. needs the tires rubbed a bit (on the tread) and some discolouring on the exhaust system to make it really pop.

Re: Lotus 25
Beautiful little car and you're right, it is a great kit. Shame Tamiya never ventured into the 1950's era F1 cars.

Re: Lotus 25
Hi Everyone,
Thanks for the comments so far. I take on board that the tyres and exhaust could have had some treatment, something I usually do on my models.
As I understand it, the bloke that was doing the historic model cars left Tamiya hence the releases of earlier subjects ceased. He is now at a company called Ebbro, who are producing their first plastic kit, a Lotus 72C in 1/20 soon.
The release is real, but the remainder is just what I've heard, I can't validate it.
Cheers

Very nice.

Re: Lotus 25
Here's some info on the Lotus 72C from the Grand Prix UK website for 42.75 pounds. Not the most attractive F1 car of it's time, would have much rather seen the 72D
Ebbro's First Plastic Kit Is Brilliant 1:20 Lotus 72C Coming Soon
Ebbro are best known for their quality diecast and resincast models but for 2012 they are moving into the plastic kit arena and what a choice of first subject, the Lotus 72C. Two kits are to be released, first of all we see the works cars of Jochen Rindt and John Miles and following in the summer will be the Rob Walker Racing machine of Graham Hill. In Nuremberg we had a sneak preview and they're fine looking kits with multi-piece bodywork which can be removed to reveal plenty of mechanical detail including full engine and a nose structure incorporating the inboard brakes on their shafts and a full pedal box. Out of the box these will make great models and there's plenty of scope for the super detailers among you too, especially with the excellent Joe Honda title (HIRJH12) which covers the works car alongside other F1 Lotus machines from the period.

Re: Lotus 25
That's a great little Lotus. Def one of my favourites. Don't worry about weathering too much as Colin Chapman would never have let a 25 on to a race track looking like it had been used.
I've seen pics of that 72C on hlj.com and too my eye it just doesn't capture the right look.
CheersSS
