Dodge Magnum
Hi guys!
I'm new here and invited by my friend Cliff. I show in completed builds my '70 'Cuda and this is my '06 Magnum in progress started in january '11. I didn't finish yet because now I too busy in other priority's life but I want to show here my WIP.
Basicly is a '06 Magnum from Revell with modified Aoshima's Trafficstar wheels, some Benz color, plumb/wires, machining job, friends helped and too patience job.
My pics speak for themselves most part of time, so lets see:

Undersized rear wing was widened 2mm (1mm each side) and painted with uretane black. I'll cover with CF decal.

Re: Dodge Magnum
Polishing job with video.
I used sandpapers #1200, #2000, #5 Sponge and #6000 sand paper in this order. Polishing job with Compound Premium from 3M, I tried a new dimmer on my rotary tool. And now I can do things with 800rpm. I uploaded 2 newest videos to show you.

Re: Dodge Magnum
Used 0,5mm stainless steel to make plumbing lines. Terrible job, hard to do... Believe in me. But it's done.
primer->clear coat->Krome->furure->clear coat.... Bad shots but We could see.
Now I can do some effects.
I used Tamiya CF, to brake light is baremetal covered with clear red.

Re: Dodge Magnum
Axis is more thin than diff and I didn't saw this on pre-assembly...
Cut off axis in 2 pieces.
Seeing my references pics and I could make a sleeve like as real car parts..
I lost my morning handle with this... but it's ok... Diff will be painted again and I hope they looks more real when it done...

Interior done (I hope, LOL!).
I didn't pay attention in my references and I did some mods to fit belts.
And done.
Body is almost done. I painted trims with matt black and inside with interior color.

Re: Dodge Magnum
My friend Drago asked to me "why didn't you gave a special attention to diff? It's a showcar..." I'm think about it and I re-worked diff...
And reference used to machined sleeve.
Overhead detail.
And reference pic.
Wheels done, bolts are painted with aluminum and thinned black washed. Lips are machined and polished like as chrome plated

Re: Dodge Magnum
Windows drama!!!
Excess cut off for belt attachment
Dry sand with 1200, 2000 e pad nº 5
I did a mistake in the paint job and strip out paint with degraser (my bigger mistake also)
And my Mopar mate, friend and bro Cliffo send me a smoked window set... Actually, he stoled that set from this Magnum...
3 weeks later windows arrived in my workbench... but only now I'm encouraged to make then.
And I did it again and done!!
I owe this update to my great friend Cliffo!! That's the best thing which happens in this car!! Thank you bro!!

Re: Dodge Magnum
The key of the moment it's "final assembly". Rear end it's almost done...
Front bumper already done. Mesh are Aoshima's leftovers and Sakatsu 2.5 mm projector lens.
Front suspension almost done.
Engine compartment almost done also. All as possible was plumbed and wired... Wire was revested with Kyosho 0,7mm tape to looks like a real car.
Hemi in place... All of sensors was wired like as throttle sensors, air flow sensor, vaccum hose etc....
Now need some cleaning in there because it's a "showcar"... So it'll looks like as new!!

Re: Dodge Magnum
Last engine pic outside of the body.
I did wheels logo with 5 min epoxi glue.
Before
After
I'm closing the car... Most difficult part, especially in the Magnum... The things doesn't fit like on pre-assembly did.
Frame is body now but I have some work to do yet. Then I only have this weekend to do it and no more build again for a while

Re: Dodge Magnum
1st I glued glass in place with tail gate closed and aligned.
So, tail gate has own life and want to be opened in down position. Then I glued some wires to push it down and keep it closed.
I found a better adjustment for inner panel in place with tail gate opened. Then put epoxi glue, then I closed tail gate then used some tape to keep all close and aligned.
Tail gate didn't keep closed yet. So, I found a latch in inner panel and it was far to the body. I used 0,5mm styrene and ok!! Tail gate works now!!
I'm really tired, because I did all pre-assembly before paint job and all was fixed... But in final assembly are too much hard to put all together than pre-assembly.
Sorry for plenty posts/pics. I hope they help you Aussie builders and you can help me with your criticism and comments.
14 months past since first sanding and it still in this way. Already now I'm still some busy with my studies and I promisse you, I'll finish it as soon as possible.
Thanks to see and feel free for any questions!
