1931 Rolls Royce Phantom II
This model was built for the IPMS Australia National Competitions back in 1971. It's a Monogram 1931 Rolls Royce Phantom II in 1:24 scale. It went together very well but I added wiring and plumbing detail to it, especially the engine which has two distributors and dual ignition system. Brake lines, links and cables were also added underneath. The interior was decked out with red corduroy material, and the car was painted in gloss black enamel. Wood areas were painted in a mixed mahogany colour. The tonneau cover was silk cloth painted with matt black. Chrome striping was done using 0.5mm wide chrome drafting tape. The car won that year's National competition ahead of an aircraft model and a motorbike, which was the first time ever anything other than an aircraft had won. Sorry about the black and white photos, but colour processing was very expensive 37 years ago.
