Re: Death Proof Chevy Nova
Thanks everybody for the nice comments
Today I have done some work and airbrushed the hood with the skull logo. Only two coats of clear need to be applied before this model will be finally done.
Feels got to be almost done after all the work. Thanks for looking.
Best regards
Kevin

Re: Death Proof Chevy Nova
Hello mates and thanks for your nice comments. The model has been finally finished and I´m pretty happy with how it turned out. Here´s a final walkaround.
This was a blast to build and this model has taught me some lessons in patience and scratchbuilding stuff.
Now I gotta shoot some nice pics for the Showroom.
Thanks for looking and best regards from Germany,
Kevin
PS:
@VintageJDM:
See the second reply on page 2. My buddy said, the parts can be re-produced. The silicone moulds and negatives for the etched parts are still there. I´ll need all that stuff again as the shown model is sold to a collector in Canada. I´m going to build another two of these Novas. One for me and the second in case another interested collector shows up. Maybe I´ll prepare some additional parts to be casted in resin. The naked door panels and stuff like that...
The hood ornament is also available from Auslowe as far as I know.

Re: Death Proof Chevy Nova
Haha, thanks man.
For the Charger I´d suggest not to buy the AMT kit and use Revell kits instead. You would need the 68 and 69 models for a decent Death Proof Charger. 68 for the body without the vinyl roof and the 69 for grille and rear panel. Or you just sand the vinyl structure off of the 69 body. The only advantage in the AMT kit is, that it has the correct wheels included in the Dukes of Hazzard kit...
I´m going to start a Fast&Furious build soon and I´m using the Revell Charger kits aswell. I already have bought correct wheels in superb resin quality and a badass Top Fuel engine from a Revell kit... That will be a fun build.

Re: Death Proof Chevy Nova
i did a 68 using the 2 revell kits.....the bodies are not the same, didnt become apparent till i tried to fit the glass, one has a higher roof than the other, dunno why this is but was an easy fix once i realised what the problem was simply switched the glass over.

Re: Death Proof Chevy Nova
There are a few other kits with the American Racing Vector wheels you need for a Death Proof '69/General Lee. Unfortunately I can't remember what they are.
However I suspect if you have a quick google (fnarr fnarr) you'll find a website that will tell you where to source all the parts you need to knock up an accurate General and of course the wheels bit will apply here.
Come on Kev, get this beauty up on a showroom thread so we can all say nice things about it.
