Back to the '60s in a Deuce 5 Window Coupe.
Well I've finished number four for the year 2012, I wonder how many more I can get done.
This one was a bit of a chore because even tho most of the parts are from one or other of the Revellogram Deuce kits, they didn't want to work together in this combination. The engine block is from the F1 pick-up as the flatty in the Deuce has an auto trans and that would not be right for this car.
I'm a bit bummed the hood doesn't fit as neatly as it should, but most of the rest went together reasonably easy.
Anyhow, without further ado, the obligatory arty farty shots.
A look under the hood.
The engine block is from the '48 F-1 with all the Navarro bits from the '48 coupe kit, which created a few more assembly headaches, but I had to use that block as the auto trans on the 'correct' deuce kit flathead engine would be just so wrong for this car.
And underneath.
Questions, comments or jokes welcome.
The Parts list:
Revellogram Deuce 5 Window kit
Engine block from '48 F-1 pick-up
All other engine components from Revellogram '48 Ford kit.
Halibrand quickchange rear axle from the parts box
Model A rear spring from the parts box
Chromed rear shocks from God knows what, they were in my shocker stock.
Split front wishbones from the parts box.
Front brakes from Replicas & Miniatures
Rear brakes (wheel backs) from the parts box
Wheels from Modelhause (stock reversed fronts, widened reversed rears)
Front tyres from who knows where (my tyres dept)
Rear tyres are same as Modelhause but minus the Firestone markings, so again I have no clue where I got them.
Exhause tailpipes from mufflers are solder with aluminium injector tube tips.
Grille shell and radiator from Replicas and miniatures
Grille from Model Car Garage
Firewall from replicas and miniatures
Radiator supports stainless steel wire
Fuel lines, nickel wire
Oil tank plumbing, copper wire and electrical insulation
Plug leads from Paul.
Distributor and voltage regulator wiring from Detail Master
Tailamp bases and licence frame from Model car Garage, on the same tree as the grille and radiator shell details
Extra pair of nerd bars from a second Deuce coupe kit (why did reveal put only one pair on the chrome tree?)
Aside from Alaclad chrome (front and rear wheel backs, brakes), satin black (running boards & rubber details), flat black (engine mounts) and satin clear Upholstery topcoat) and a few different metalisers, the only paint used is either '57 Ford Turquise or Racing White.
Everything else was in the box, including the '40 Ford dash and steering wheel.

Re: Back to the '60s in a Deuce 5 Window Coupe.
That looks unbelievable Carps. You finished it off really well. Like I said in your Workshop thread, the colour is amazing and really makes the build in my opinion.
Number 4 for the year is a great effort. I have 4 on my bench waiting to be finished. Make that 5 with the GAS build. lol.

Re: Back to the '60s in a Deuce 5 Window Coupe.
Maybe not, but I did manage to knock one of my photo studio lamps and the big reflector over which both promptly landed on top of it in the cyclorama.
That caused some anxious moments not to mention a few unplanned repairs.
I resisted throwing it at the wall, but I was tempted to jump up and down on the very expensive lights.

Re: Back to the '60s in a Deuce 5 Window Coupe.
Thanx to a little constructive feedback I've made some changes.
First up, installation of the brake master cylinder…….
Since I like the hood and some think it looks better without, I came up with a compromise……..
Hood open, delivers the best of both worlds!
I'm still not sure about adding a darker colour in the shutlines, but I guess it works.
