Model A Tourer
Here's one I did for a friend of mine
The tourer body was made up from a 29 A roadster pickup cowl and the 30 Phaeton tub
the rest of the parts are either scratchbuilt, modified or raided from my parts box.
I have used it for a feature in Aust Street Rodding Sept issue

Re: Model A Tourer
VERY VERY NICE!! These replications are alot harder than a regular build i think, coz it HAS-TO be exact and spot on, a credit to you mate.

Re: Model A Tourer
Looks great Chris but what's with the droopy headlamps?
I always figured it was only me had trouble with making them stick properly and point in the right direction.

Yea agreed, there's less 'artistic freedom' in a replica build. Extra props to you mateDeeCee wrote: These replications are alot harder than a regular build i think, coz it HAS-TO be exact and spot on,

Re: Model A Tourer
Thanks for the comment guys
Poor execution Carps!!!!
I made a dropped headlight bar and test fitted - all well so far
Then glued the buckets to the bar, painted it with Alclad and , in a moment of stupidity, applied the super glue and put it on the car without dry fitting first.
What I forgot was that when I made the dropped bar, it moved the headlights in a fraction and they hit on the radiator surround. I wasn't game to pull them off in case they took paint with them. Model A headlights are so bad that they really only should point down at that angle anyway LOL

Re: Model A Tourer
I really like this, particularly the different roof line. It works well with the rear of the tub. Thanks for sharing it with us

Stupidity, yet another thing I thought was soley my domain.cdansie wrote:I made a dropped headlight bar and test fitted - all well so far

I love it that I see all the flaws when I try and replicate a real car but the owner never notices until I apologise for my mistake.
One day I'll learn to keep my mouth shut.
