"A day at the drags"
Hi guys. I thought I would start a seperate thread here so everyone can find the pics of this great display a lot easier. We can keep the qmhe thread for our rants and raves, which i could myself unleash at anytime but i won't, because besides all the bullshit that comes with shows like that, it was a great weekend and i'm quite proud to have been there, like everyone else involved is i'm sure. I will admit it was quite disappointing to be told for a second year in a row that the display would not be in the running to win best display. Then I think.... well it's only a trophy and it will only gather dust and then eventually in years to come end up at the rubbish tip or at some garage sale with some kid buying it for $2 and wondering what the qmhe was and also what it was awarded for. As Tubman said we have been invited to display it again at easter and who knows what other invitations it might get after that and also it will be published in a great magazine that will be seen by many more car guys and gals like ourselves, which, who knows, might cause more people to join the forum and increase the hobby. So in my mind at least, that is far more valuable then any trophy. Lastly the look on the kids faces as they studied the display with excitement makes all those long hours of bloodshot eyes and glued fingers seem worth it. Sorry this was meant to be a rant free zone. Well enjoy the pics and hope everyone else that was there will post pics here also.

Re: "A day at the drags"
Can I suggest that for whatever you do next year you include at least 1 tank - fully detailed with photo etch & resin parts but then painted candy apple red with flames and lowered over whitewall tracks.
Who made the gum trees? I have been asked how you did it by the wife of a railway modeller who has been told she is in charge of the trees on his layout.

Wonderful stuff - it must have been a ripper of a "day at the drags". Thanks for sharing.
Are the figurines 1:25 scale? I'm looking to buy some but no luck so far finding any.

Re: "A day at the drags"
Tezza, most of the figures are 1/24 Tamiya Campus Friends and Fujimi Mechanics figures. They've been cast and modified specially for the QMHE display.
I gave Trent the molds but some of 'em are shot....they might be good for a few more pulls though...
Chris.

Words fail me
Unreal doods
My fav is the Elvis burger dood
Unable to pick a best in show but the humpy is pretty cool, nice job.
Awesome effort fellas, the nice people that are intent on grinding the car freaks down will eventually get their own back.
Karma is a bitch or is that carma
Congrats to all involved
