Scratchbuild - Trailer 1/24
Few days ago i received my last purchase from USA, i bought one model kit (dodge little red wagon), and a mitter box and some evergreen and plastruct materials.
So now i have the right tool to make the cuts (the miter box), and the materials, i start my scratchbuild trailer
i started looking for pictures in internet, to have a clear idea of what i want to build, and i found this one...which was what i have in mind
Then, i did some measuring, and i re design it using sketchup
Then, to make my work easier, i draw the trailer in autocad and print it in 1:1 scale
Some plastruct square rod (4,8mm) to start
The spacers, are smaller (plastruct square rod 2,5mm)
Few more cuts...
Its looking good
Put some tyres to see if they touch each other
And finally, i put some cars over to see if the size is ok
My ford 32 has some serious big back tyres, but it fits
Hope you guys like my project, it is not as complicate as the "XE Falcon S-Pack" from ShawnS but it is funny anyway
Cheers!

Re: Scratchbuild - Trailer 1/24
You've definitely planned this build out well, should work out nicely mate, wont be long and you could have a nice little trailer building business on the go.

Cool. I was thinking about building a trailer (just a basic 6x4) in the near future so I'll definitely be watching this one for some tips. Keep up the good work.

Re: Scratchbuild - Trailer 1/24
Well is mostly done...now i have to work on the details
Lets see, i glue the spacers (88mm long)
Then i pick my altezza rims for the trailer, they are a little sporty so i guess they look good
Then, the complicate part....the axis
Finally, the floor...
The front part
Both side floors
Quick test with the Supra
i had to add some supports to avoid the bending of the floor
Looking good
It seems that we have a couple here
Well that is all for today

Re: Scratchbuild - Trailer 1/24
Cant really see in the pic but did you use checker plate for the floor or just flat card?
Also what CAD program do you use?
Looking good and I love the little suprise at the end ...

Thanks mate!
About your questions
a) the floor is just flat evergreen sheet
b) the program is AutoCad 2009 just the common one, to make the plans
