Post by luchoteam Sun 30 Sep 2012, 5:39 am

welcome

Few days ago i received my last purchase from USA, i bought one model kit (dodge little red wagon), and a mitter box and some evergreen and plastruct materials.

So now i have the right tool to make the cuts (the miter box), and the materials, i start my scratchbuild trailer

i started looking for pictures in internet, to have a clear idea of what i want to build, and i found this one...which was what i have in mind

Scratchbuild - Trailer 1/24 Car-580-1

Then, i did some measuring, and i re design it using sketchup
Scratchbuild - Trailer 1/24 2

Scratchbuild - Trailer 1/24 3

Scratchbuild - Trailer 1/24 Sinttulo

Then, to make my work easier, i draw the trailer in autocad and print it in 1:1 scale
Scratchbuild - Trailer 1/24 P1050824

Some plastruct square rod (4,8mm) to start
Scratchbuild - Trailer 1/24 P1050823

The spacers, are smaller (plastruct square rod 2,5mm)
Scratchbuild - Trailer 1/24 P1050825

Few more cuts...

Its looking good Very Happy

Put some tyres to see if they touch each other
Scratchbuild - Trailer 1/24 P1050828

Scratchbuild - Trailer 1/24 P1050829

And finally, i put some cars over to see if the size is ok
Scratchbuild - Trailer 1/24 P1050830

Scratchbuild - Trailer 1/24 P1050831

Scratchbuild - Trailer 1/24 P1050833

My ford 32 has some serious big back tyres, but it fits Twisted Evil

Hope you guys like my project, it is not as complicate as the "XE Falcon S-Pack" from ShawnS but it is funny anyway Wink

Cheers!

Cool. I was thinking about building a trailer (just a basic 6x4) in the near future so I'll definitely be watching this one for some tips. Keep up the good work.

Well is mostly done...now i have to work on the details

Lets see, i glue the spacers (88mm long)
Scratchbuild - Trailer 1/24 P1050835

Then i pick my altezza rims for the trailer, they are a little sporty so i guess they look good
Scratchbuild - Trailer 1/24 P1050836

Then, the complicate part....the axis
Scratchbuild - Trailer 1/24 P1050839

Shocked
Scratchbuild - Trailer 1/24 P1050840

Finally, the floor...

Cant really see in the pic but did you use checker plate for the floor or just flat card?

Also what CAD program do you use?

Looking good and I love the little suprise at the end ...

Thanks mate!

About your questions
a) the floor is just flat evergreen sheet
b) the program is AutoCad 2009 just the common one, to make the plans
