How to clean my airbrush

Hi guys,

I'm new to this forum and just have a quick question regarding cleaning my airbrush.

I've only just gotten one and I've ordered Zero paints from the UK. Just wondering what to use to clean the airbrush after I use it? Any specific products for these (Zero) paints would be appreciated because I want to try and get everything right from the start.

Basically use what ever thins those type of paint, i use auto acrylics, which are thinners based, so i use thinners, if i use water based acrylics, you only need to use water to clean,I have never used that brand , but, i think if you stick to that rule, you will be OK.

I'm guessing you know how to clean the thing and are just asking about what to use?
I've found that cheap GP Thinners is so hot it will shift any paint you can get your brush to spit out plus it has the added bonus of melting your thongs if you spill some & stand in it.
I buy the cheapest I can find and then use it for cleaning and only cleaning.

I know how to pull it all apart and re-assemble so yeah, was just after what to use to clean it. Once again, thanks. :-)

I'm with Fred, I use the cheap gp thinners to clean every thing, enamels, waterbased, the lot

my comment is; be careful with some parts that can melt or get damage with strong thinners. if you use acrylics you can use 91% alcohol. the one it sold in the pharmacy. it's cheap and evaporates pretty fast. lacquer is good for cleaning enamel and automotive paint.

i have different thinners for cleaning my airbrush.......

if you are going to use the strong stuff do it in a well ventilated area......

I use zero paints & they're acrylic ... Just get some auto acrylic thinner... Doe's the job perfect.

Just a quick question. Do you the Zero Paints primers, and if yes do you have to thin them at all?
I tried their white primer the other day and ended up just using Tamiya white instead as it came out terrible.
