Cool - I remember watching that race. I would have been ten years old...
Back in the days when the cars on the track were somewhat representative of real cars you could buy and a win actually meant something towards credibility of product.

Yeah I remember it too. That was the year Dick Johnson drove a Mustang and came fourth, and Brock and Moffat joined forces to drive a VK Commodore into fifth place. From memory no Falcons were entered in that year's Bathurst, but plenty of other marques did enter. They were the days!
I always liked Grice's agressive driving style and his never-say-die attitude - a well deserved win in my opinion. And a very nice replica by Biante.

Despite having shot this image of Mr Grice, slightly off the bitument at Bathurst turn 1, I am not old.
However, I will also not reveal my age at that time, in order to avoid any inuendo to the contrary.
Suffice to say, that I do have very fond memories of a time when the vehicle of choice for ATC campaigners, was the FJ Holden.

Hard to believe anybody could be so young, but once I was even younger than Bryce, which was when my parents told me that if I lived to be their age (at the time), I could be as disrespectful as I wished.
Despite my best efforts to the contraray, I made it!
Soooo, now all you yunguns will just have to put up with my total lack of respect!

I'm happy to put up with an old man's disrespect as long as you keep sharing the wisdom you've clearly gathered over all those mispent years!

Nice model Andy, looks well detailed.
I watched this in action as well. I have watched every Bathurst since `69, when Bill Brown stopped the race on lap 1 by parking his GTHO on it`s roof. Very impressionable too a 6 year old .
